My new 1972 Imperial purchase delivered today.

Just mailed Idler arm core from MP to Rare Parts in California...estimate about $275-300.00...maybe 2 weeks to get back.

When I get my second Imperial next year...you forum guys are gonna hate my "play by play" and updates...I sure hope one does come up for sale in Spring 2018 or so...one that's not a mouse condo or rusty carcass.

BREAKING NEWS:
BIG RED IS MN LEGIT.
I applied for Minnesota collector plates July 24th I just got them Wednesday Oct 18th. The Illinois collector plates are mounted on the wall. Nothing like a swift and efficient state to state transfer of ownership. No new title yet.

Have you considered “Vintage” plates? If you even have that option through Minnesota DMV.. I purchased a set of actual 1975 Ny license plates from a collector, $35 bucks.. DMV had me mail the actual plates to them for verification that they were authentic and no longer in circulation, then they issued me a registration. $58 per yr. I just thought it added a touch of class and authenticity to the car.. just a thought.

Yes have done it. Got discouraged when a fellow from Australia was trying to do that in front of me for his Willys and the DMV clerk's head about exploded.

I might look into the vintage plate thing for the next Imperial and try my luck with a different clerk. It does look cool. I haven't looked at the 1972 version of MN plates. I'm sure Ebay probably has a few.

Mopars in the Park should have them. I've thought about it but haven't come across the right plate yet.

Still driving Big Red in early November and in Minnesota. No snow yet.

Today got the rebuilt idler arm switched out...she drives nice and tight.

She will not see a single grain of road salt, right?
Thanks to Minnesnowta's policy, we usually see snow before salt. They put a nasty spray on the road surface if it's going to get below freezing and we have sleet/snow expected overnight. But you'd never have a car out in those conditions anyway.
