My new `67 Imperial Crown Coupe!

I love the cars at the Woodward dream cruise but hate all the hoopala that surrounds it.

My Woodward cruise days date back to the mid 60's and early 70's..... When it was real.
Back in the day I cruised in my first Mopar, A 62 Fury.... 2nd Mopar, a 66 Plymouth Satellite 383 4sp and with my 69 1/2 6bbl Road Runner. (Some interesting moments with that).
I saw Jimmy Addison's Silver Bullet defeated by a T bucket roadster. And am a charter member of NWTA, (North Woodward Timing Association). Signed on at Ted's, (still have my patch).

As cool as the cars are at the dream cruise...... It's just not the same, so I'll just hang on to my memories.

Will you have to post up a pic of that patch, I'd love to see it!

What's the proper deduction rate for this car being no factory Hemi ? :)

One of the charter members of the club I'm in owns the Silver Bullet. When I fire up the desktop I can post some nice pics I've taken of it.

It was never a well organized club. No schedulled meetings, just casual gatherings, usually at Ted's, or the Totem or Big boys. Somewhere there is a roster of the original members. When I paid my $10.00 fee and signed it there were about 25/30 other names on the list of members.

Come to think of it you own the C-box, the Silver Bullet came in, Matt. :smileinbox:

Will that is perhaps the kool its thing of its kind I've seen in a long time, thanks man, really!
i love that there's actually a cop car on it!

Klaus, I never thought of it but you're right!

I love that patch kudos to whoever designed , modified , made whatever you want to call it very cool piece of history

What really makes the silver bullet special is that it was basically a factory sponsored street racer there is no paper trail to back that up, lawyers and all, it was not made of parts to lose races very often.

That was one of the interesting things about cruising and racing on Woodward back in the day. The silver bullet was not the only factory street racer out there. Most of the manufacturers had representitive cars cruising. Most a lot more sudtle then Jimmys car. I tangled with a 69 Hurst 442 one night that almost made my A12 Runner look really bad. I learned to "profile" quickly...... Young engineer types in white button downs and "M" tags usually meant "factory prepped".

I don't think Matt has mentioned that he is only the fourth owner of his car and it was garage kept by the original owners. It was still in the garage when the second owner (from whom I bought the car) got it.

There is a good article( of many I'm sure) it was in a special retro issue of mopar Muscle that I picked up at mag rack hers ago. It talked about Ted Spehar and all the antics they did. That must have been an amazing time period. BTW thanks again for sharing pics of patch

Do you know how long the second owner had it?

I don't know exactly, but between two and three years. So it's only been outside for a small percentage of it's life.

I'm glad the second owner had the where with all to let it go so it didn't suffer from the AZ sun.

The second owner bought it to tow a trailer when he moved to Arizona. The son of the elderly couple that sold it had been driving the car and had put custom exhaust and valve covers on, but he bought a brand new car and lost interest in the Imp.
The second owner put the hitch on it, dragged his stuff to AZ, drove it for awhile then decided the mileage was a killer. He parked it outside with five dash covers over the whole interior and a car cover over the car. He couldn't stand to see it sit outside baking, so he put it in that auction site everybody knows and I was the only bidder.
I had talked to him about the car and found out it didn't have A/C, so I wasn't as interested as I would have been. But the price was right, so I bid and got it. Cost me $1160 to get it to A2 from London Bridge!

I still can't believe you were the only bidder....
