A friend of mine was selling his 67 Barracuda convertible, it was a deal I couldn't pass up. It is a slant 6. My Copper fastback on the driveway, his in the garage (my garage).
Mixed with working on the Polara (and my house) I have been working on this car. When I got the car it had a slant six and a transmission with failing reverse. Under powered and the transmission issue I chose to upgrade to a V8, right away a 340 was located at it was on. Over the next year parts were acquired and rebuilt as needed. Three months ago the six was pulled and the engine compartment repainted. By then the new engine was ready to go in and over the next few months the new k-member and engine compartment were detailed followed by the engine going in and being dressed out.
Still need to swap the rear end out and have a driveshaft made.
This is a motel (just outside town where I live) built about 1962, not sure why but it has been vacant for the last 30 years. About 10 years ago it was announced that they were going to restore it and work started, Covid happened slowing progress. The plan is for an opening next year.
