My SEARCH is on for a preowned RAM 3500 4WD DUALLY PICKUP

A 2500 and 3500 are essentially rated the same for pulling but the difference is the payload. My 3500 has a 4300 lb payload which you don’t really need unless you’re dropping a lot of weight in the box. The pin weight on this 5th wheel is 2300 lbs which is a stretch for a 2500.
One of the mechanic's sons that works on my Imperials mentioned this week that to consider the frequency of trailer usage because he said the ride is so much stiffer with the 3500 when you're not pulling anything and is it worth it to forfeit the daily driving comfort for the extra strength? I have to test drive both soon.

Without a load in / on it, that 3500 will ride like a buckboard.

Yep, I just need to test drive both...my daily drive to work is 12 miles one way so not like I'm going to bust a kidney with a 3500 going for miles on end.

3500’s can be a bit choppy with no load. They now have air bags and fewer leaf springs which makes a big difference to the ride.

Came up just doing my daily search...that is sweet.

I'm still looking at Rams...But, then this pops up...does that look safe? Think K100's and K125's are roughly 14,000 lbs if I remember correctly...

Zac..you mean the Ford or disputing the weight of the K100?

Yea, I was reffering to the ford. :mob:

We have a 2011 powerjoke here at work. Ever seen under the hood of one of these? No thank you! Over engineered junk.

We had a shipper show up at work the other week with an old peterbuilt. Was great getting to see. Never see cab overs anymore. Believe he said this one was an ‘85, and he had an ‘87 back at home.
