I'm very sorry with what happened to the right side quarter panel though, you'll get it fixed although the panel or molding MAY not be easy to find. NOW I see why you were drooling at that red 4spd Polara in Carlisle......

Thank you. I had never seen one in person before, and there in front of me is what originally got my dream going, a Polara with a four speed. That was a cool car, and I wanted to take it home with me! I hope he's there next year, I'd love to see it again. Glad I got the itch for Monacos, I used to like only the Polaras, maybe Monacos were too "nice" for me in my youth. :lol:

As for the quarter panel, arranging it's replacement at this very moment.

the woodgrain console is correct - it matches the woodgrain on the door panels.
remember, canadian monaco 500s used sport fury interiors - door panels, dash/instrument cluster, console and seats.
when i got new seat covers from legendary for my 69 monaco 500 i ordered 69 sport fury ones.

Yeah, I didn't think when I was typing, I'm curious to see what the seller was talking about. I'm going outside to check it out right now.

I'll have an upholstery guy do the seats, I'm still pissed at Legendary for not making Polara 500 patterns at my expense.
 
Canadian Monaco uses the entire Plymouth SF interior - and Legendary makes it. It's spot on.

In my opinion there's absolutely no sense in having an upholsterer make the covers, especially as there is a significant amount of heat embossed patterns, and unique welting otherwise unavailable.

The only caveat is the height of the rear seat bottom front panel, due to the difference in the Dodge to Plymouth floor pans. PM me for the details
 
Just one teaser picture for you. I couldn't get the trailer lined up with my garage and a small driveway, so I dropped it so I could bring back the truck and trailer. I'll have my neighbors help push it into the garage. I just looked under the hood for the first time to see a dual snorkel air cleaner assembly. Nice! I hope it's stock as my US Monaco 500 only has the single snorkel assembly.

Great find & story! You're taking the quarter damage in stride, I'd be crying in my beer. What are your plans for the car, a stock resto? From the other post it appears it was originally gold, going to change it back? Apparently some brats stomped on the roof, is it OK?

A quote from a movie I have embraced for the last 5-6 years. That just means I have to work a little harder. But it still sucks.

The plan is a stock restoration other than a dual circuit master cylinder, maybe a cam upgrade (small) if the engine needs a rebuild, and I'm still undecided on tti or Accurate for the exhaust. I noticed the roof today, I've honestly hardly even looked at the car. I gave it a glazed eyed once over and took off for home. I have two extra, no, three extra roofs if I need one. It needs a radiator core support because someone cut crude holes in it, but I have two of those. I'm hoping the piece of trim on the lower quarter that got hit can be saved. I've got a quarter panel lined up, and a lead on another parts car. In Seattle. :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:
 
I may have that 1/4 trim.

Dual snorkel and exhaust is stock on all 383 & 440 equipped Canadian 66 Monacos. Single snorkel and exhaust on 318 Poly equipped ones only (not offered in USA Monaco 500).

Good to know, now I know why that hanger is there in the driver's side.

If Ross doesn't have that trim, I might (heavy stress on might), and it could be quite the challenge for me to find it. If you can't come up with one, let me know and I will see what I can do. I know I have photos of the left side of the car that I had, but not sure on the right. A right side photo would confirm if I have the trim somewhere.

Thanks Jeff, I'll let you know. It was fun, I always love getting a car. Longest trip I've made by myself, but so worth it.

Sweet! I asked because back in August I ended up finding a quarter for my 2dr '67 Valiant at Hidden Valley Auto Parts in Arizona. I spotted a '68 2dr in the background while watching Junkyard Gold / Roadkill hahaha

I didn't have much time with daylight, but here's a few pictures of the car. In a quick glance, it appears to be complete, in decent shape overall for the interior being exposed to nature for so long. Good thing it was in a dry climate.

The interior did take a bath on the way home, but it getting replaced other than the dash, so I'm not too upset. I was going to put two tarps on the windshield and driver's side, but it was too windy when I attempted to do it by myself, so I gave up. I don't think it would have mattered, as Seattle skies dumped down an inch of rain the day I was there. The splashes coming off little cars were covering the vehicles next to them. Semi trucks would send multiple waves of water at a time, scared the **** outta me! So the tarps would have come off before I even turned east.

Looks like the hood was off a DD1 car. Second car that I have that has an incorrect colored hood. And from the west coast. I hope to trace the history back to at least the owner who abandoned it.
