#2,411 Sharon Stone
Looks like were done with this one. Regular players have chimed in .... new folks don't tend to come in this late.
She starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger (got nickname of the "Governator" when he was California Governor after he played the Terminator in movies) in sci-fi movie
Total Recall in 1990 (It was poorly remade in 2012 with Colin Ferrell in the 1990 Arnold role).
It was a good role for her in that it got her good press/exposure as a sexy, athletic, tough female character. People may not recall but,
that same year (1990), she posed for Playboy.
She admitted later she did that because she was angling to get the role that she hoped would launch her career into the stratosphere: the lead female role in Basic Instinct.
Two years later in 1992, she played the femme fatale lead in
Basic Instinct opposite Michael Douglas. The role was erotic, character accused of murder, bisexual, rich, tough, etc., .. a complex character that could make/break an actor's career. She nailed it, and audiences loved her in the role.
During an interrogation of her character, Catherine Trammell, by the police, she "flashed" her nether-regions to the cops. Revealing to the cops she wasn't wearing panties. The director chose to show that scene to the audience as well.
Boom. She was the talk of the town for years. She worked a LOT after that role,
not in just the kinky stuff but across a variety of movies for next 10 years.
A strategic career move with Playboy (works for some, many actresses regret it as it served NO purpose, and now embarrasses their kids in front of their friends), led to a juicy part, and made her RICH and FAMOUS.
In 2001, she had a stroke because of a brain aneurysm. Nearly killed her, and while she kept working, she did have to tone it all down. Still working though. Large body of theatrical film work as you can see.
