Just planning for the worst case scenario, I'm looking for a photo of a heater core for a non-ac vehicle, (73 polaro Monaco), just to see the piping, how different the fitment is compared to a bodies and b bodies. How easy it is to play with the fitment will determine if I need to go with a rebuild, or, pay the shop to massage another model's heater core into place, should I need a new heater core.

Would a heater core from another c body work

Haven't been able to find a photo online, let alone a parts dealer with a replacement heater core :BangHead::BangHead:

I'm hoping I do not need a new heater core and I just have a blower motor issue but I want to prepare to line some ducks up.

A good radiator shop in your area should be able to re-core the heater core just like they would re-core a radiator, I suspect. How it used to be done, in prior times, rather than "buy new". The KEY would be if they use OEM-spec solder.

As for images, they should be in a Fuselage-era Chrysler FSM, I suspect. www.mymopar.com .

As for physical sizing, perhaps the cata logs at www.rockauto.com mightg have a buyer's guide section with dimensions and pipe orientations? When you find a listing and click on the "INFO" icon, on the page that comes ujp, click on the company icon in the lh upper corner and that will take you to the company's website, directly. Then verify their part number and other applications it might fit, then look in the back of the catalog for a section with pictures and sizes.

Take care,

I called a local place, however they said they couldn't quote me unless they saw the thing and I had it out. So it's a short bridge to cross but I must cross it when I come to it. I'll have to nose around a bit more for radiator rebuild shops. Another shop had one sent out recently and that was for a '68 Beaumont, and that customer was charged $646 for a rebuild which is very pricey.

An acquaintance with a great deal of experience has told me that there are not many sizing differences for non-ac cars throughout the years and there is an alternative part that could work. A core made by Four Seasons that works for Furys, Magnums, and Satellites would also likely work. Might take a little bit of copper brazing to rework the pipes but it should fit in the space, and the part is readily available and cheap(ish) so that's a more likely option perhaps.

Unfortunately RockAuto did not have a listing for the part.

When I got the factory a/c heater core replaced in our '66 Newport, circa 1975, the orig pat number had changed a few times. The last part number, the one we got and installed, was for a '70 Charger. I asked the parts guy to check and see what the part number fit, for future reference.

The price for that rebuilt core for the Beaumont sounds very pricey to me, even in Canadian money.

Sounds like there is hope for me even if I can't find the original part and the original part number. I can't imagine the designs vary wildly to the point where I won't be able to use a heater core from another car of the era, but I am no expert.

I contacted our local Chrysler dealership and the parts desk person told me there is a guy there working over 35 years who has "the knowledge" and to call back Friday, so I'm hopeful that he will be able to find me the part or parts that could replace my heater core if and when needed.

Yes even in our Beaver pesos that is way too much money!

There should be a 1972 Chrysler Parts Manual for free download at www.mymopar.com .

This is a formidable document, lol. But I think I found the core. Thank you!

Don't depend on that pic to be correct. It might be, but they used a lot of generic pictures. What I'm sure @CBODY67 meant is for you to compare part numbers between the models.

So, go to section 1-48-88 and take a look at the part numbers. Once you find that part number, google it with the word "Mopar". That may give you some info too.
