Hello everyone, I just picked up this 67 yesterday and it is my first driveable old car. We looked at it Thursday and drove it an hour and 15 minutes home with zero problems yesterday. Let it sit over night and the rear driver's side tire was sitting on the rim, the tranny is leaking from the pan gasket and the radiator overflow tank is leaking. Other than that, it is really really solid with one little dent in the passenger door. It has new exhaust, new brakes, new gas tank and all new hoses in the engine bay. All of the lights, knobs, vents and radio work. It needs a little tlc and paint. It has a 361 in it which Im not sure if its original or not, but it runs and is extremely quiet so no worries if it isnt original. I cant wait to get it cleaned up and just drive it. I also need to figure out seat covers because who ever had it before this past owner decided to make them out of Harbor Freight moving blankets which works for now but in the future I want the interior to be as nice as possible.

Welcome aboard. Nice score on the NYR. It has a the same colour as my 68 Monaco 500. Make sure you keep us posted on any changes. The 361 if I'm not mistaken is a similar block to the 383. What motor did it come out of the factory with?

A 361 would NOT be original for 1967. The final year for the 361 in cars across the board was the 1966 model year.

A 361 is identical to a 383 in every way, except the size of the bore.

Just use a Navajo Indian blanket instead of the HF crap and you'll be fine and period correct.
Welcome.

I'm pretty sure the base engine for a '67 New Yorker is a 440.

Welcome..........yes , a 440 is the orig engine for the car.

A hearty welcome to the group. You will find a huge amount of good info and advice here. Do a search here when you go to fix the tranny leak and read about the upgraded mopar pan gasket. Good luck!

Welcome and a nice car. Looks similar to my '67 Monaco 500 (yellow body & black vinyl roof)!

Welcome! I'm not a big fan of the fast tops but for some reason they look very right on the 67 nyer! Nice car!!

Thanks everyone. Ive been looking on craigslist for a 440 and there seems to be pretty many running driving ones in my area for cheap so in the future it will have the correct cubic inch engine in it.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Nice Chrysler!

It was on Craigslist but I actually saw it sitting along rt22 on my way home from Pittsburgh the one day.
