New incentive to get my 300 completed and back on the road

It appears Earl is well adapted to his wife.........the wig comment didn't even rattle him!

Yes they are a fun bunch. They are always cracking jokes. I didn't hear the wig comment until I played back the video. I did laugh out loud when I heard it and saw Earl reaction.

Congrats on getting out for a last memorable ride. Part of his material legacy will survive with the family and be cared for. BTW that motor sounds healthy!

It's not about having the shiniest engine, a rare car, a crazy fast beast. It stuff like this you can't buy.

Stan that's well put, I can honestly say I could care less about having a fast car or a perfect car, I'm aiming to have something I can drive and enjoy and make some memories along the way.

The Wig comment was priceless and I too cringed when the door was slammed.

I was able to achieve the main goal I set this year today. I got the 300 back over to Earl's house today. He is a tough old bird. They gave him weeks this spring with his cancer. He decided to fight it to make it to 2 of his grandkids weddings this year.

As soon as I got Goldie back from the upholstery shop I called Earl to set up a day to come show him the 300 "finished". Today was the day we set last Tuesday. Last week the ground was covered with snow and the road with salt. We got all that rain, that about half the country got, and it washed away all the salt. It was cold today but partly sunny.

Earl had already called a few of his local buddies. Two where at his house when we got there, all were outside waiting for me. One road with us to go see 2 more friends, so he could show them the car. One a retired Mopar mechanic and another who actually detailed prepped my 300 back when it was brand new.

It was a great afternoon.

Mike, that is so cool. Actually one of the coolest things that I've ever seen anybody do.

Good for you Mike! What did they think? I know the answer but I want to hear it from you!

Thanks for the kind words, but it was my pleasure to show him the car and go for a cruise. He was like a kid on Christmas and I felt like Santa today. Yesterday would have been perfect with the warm weather, but we had a house full of family all day celebrating Christmas.

Thanks, He told me he loved it. He said it never looked as good as it did today when he owned it. He also mentioned that when I pulled it out of his garage last fall, he said I knew you would get it running but I never dreamed you would restore it in such a short time

The coolest part was hearing him talk to his buddies about it. They all remembered him driving it and how he was going to fix it up one day. He was as proud of it as I am, telling them different aspects of the restoration like he was there for the process, which he sort of was through all the pictures and updates that I have sent him.

Great story Mike! Couldn't plan a better time of year for it. The good thing is it made you feel as good as it did Earl!

Wish I could have been there.
