Greetings all,

Purchased a 69 300 Convertible from NC. Not my first fuselage Mopar, but my first convertible. Needs this and that, but it's drivable. Nicely optioned. It does have cruise control but the online VIN decoder didn't list it - maybe out on that tag he didn't get in the shot. I look forward to reviewing the threads here.

Gotta love those on line decoders.....

K= 440-4bbl 350 horse.
L1= exterior color = Sandlewood. The Jefferson plant coded the paint twice regardless if the car was a convertible or not.
M6W = interior trim = medium level of trim; bucket seats; black and white interior
W1 = inner upper door trim is white
C04 = Scheduled production day = December (C) 4th (04). May or, likely, not be the actual production day.
H51 = a/c
C21 = fold down arm rest "buddy seat"
G11 = tinted glass - all windows

Neat car!

Where are the factory rear speakers on a convertible? There should be three working speakers for the front speakers, on the upper section of the instrument panel.

Just curious,

Nice. Thanks. That makes more sense.

The "R31" is rear speaker, not dual rear speakers.

Speaker is behind the grille on the rear seat back.

Transport driver dropped off the car this morning. headlight doors don't go down when the lights are turned off, but the 8-track works. lol

PO put an Edelbrock 1406 on it. It looks to be brand new, but it should be a Holley for the 440 in 69 shouldn't it? Choke rod of course doesn't fit so not hooked up, and the washers and safety pin are missing from the throttle/trans kick down lever. Nothing but the tire in the trunk... where do people put stuff. Interior will need total new seat covers and throw a new carpet in with that. Definitely needs a new top.

BUT... new tires, battery, and I drove it into the garage.. so that's a start.

Check the bulbs. Believe it or not, if a bulb is burnt out, the doors won't close. The ground for the door relay comes through the bulb filament.

For the 350hp 440, yes, it takes a Holley. For the 375hp version, that takes a Carter AVS. With the "K" in your VIN, you have the 350hp engine.

No kidding... interesting. I'll check that. Thank you

One omitted item overlooked is the dimmer switch. Combine several bad connections and the doors won't close / poor operation.

I have the K, but someone before me changed the cam, carb to a Carter, and dual exhaust. I guess they sold it cause 4400 lbs doesn't make a good race car hahah.
