Well newish. After being a Pontiac guy forever, I got my first Mopar over a year ago. 68 Barrauda 318. I nicely done street car in the early 80s. I posted a few weeks ago about looking at another and I am about to seal the deal on a 71 Sport Fury 4dr 360 2bbl single exhaust. It was a one owner car until a couple years ago. Has @56k. So after seeing and driving it, I love 70 and 71 Sport Furies! But I am a bit hung up on the 4dr thing. I don't mind it until I see a killer 2dr. But after researching for weeks, I have not found many of these for sale around the entire country. The ones I found either need more work or are far away. So are these pretty hard to find? Price is really good too. Runs and drives like new. Seems like just minor stuff, rip in front seat, little rust. one soft spot in trunk size of nickle. Pretty sure I'll be getting it this week, but just wanted to get an idea of what is out there. I know Pontiacs inside out but not these.

If you REALLY want a two door just be patient and scan all.the sale.ads (paper and online). That's what I did before I found my current car. I had to have a coup and walked by a.bunch of.4 door sedans, some nice, many not so nice. You may have to travel a bit. Be prepared to jump immediately if you find "the one" or someone is going to scoop it up bed of you do.
My two cents.

Hard to find ? Yes! Most were used for what they were bought for, family duty. Rain, snow, summer heat. Of The ones that did survive many had to give up their big block hearts for B and E body cloning. Then there's the derby guys thatthe survivors had to hide from.
So yes, they are hard to find in either two or four door versions BUT I believe the two door production was much lower....

:sSig_greetingsthor: ............ :welcome:
For driving and enjoying purposes a 4 door is as good as any. The two doors are a bit more rare and will retain value a little better. But C bodys are not really known for investment value.

If you expand your search to Dodge and Chrysler you may find something too. Asside from the sheet metal they are pretty much all the same.

Good luck with your search, and welcome to the world of Mopars. ( I like pontiac's too).

Hold out and wait for the right car to come along.
Guys who are serious about wanting a C-body will look for "The One".
We all have and the joy was beyond expectation.

I had a 1969 Monaco 4-door hard-top. It was a great looking car! If you like the 4-door and want to save it from 360 robbers (71 360 has reinforced block and probably J-heads, as I recall, and more desirable than later 360s), why not buy? I'd like to know price and see pictures.

Thanks everyone. I am going to get the 4dr. It is too nice, rides too nice, and is too good a price. Even if it is not the one, I am a lot closer to the one with this than without it. I will just keep an eye open for others. There is so much potential with these. Will post photos next week or so. Ah, what to do first- go or show???

Yup. Go is the word. Oh, congrats on the purchase...and by the way just for the record I was in no way "dissing" four door cars. I used to own a 4 door Chrysler Imperial LeBaron. I miss that car something bad. I loved it. I prefer the 2 door models however.
