Bummer.... I had a rig act somewhat like that a few years ago, (well, close to 40 yrs now), that turned out to be a lack of lube in the rear end. Wheels/axles felt fine but you couldn't get your hand near the rear gear without heavy gloves. Of course we were halfway into a 2000 mile trip and moving at the time. Let it cool and filled it with lube - that rear was still in there when I sold the pickup about 5 years ago.
The rear axle may be dry of fluid, I would day it worth the effort to pull the hogshead and check it all out to be sure.No kidding...you have me thinking now. I pulled all 4 wheels today and didn't really find anything wrong with the brakes...All 4 drums came off rather easily. I did notice the rear hubs are very hard to turn though with trans in neutral. Is it possible that's whats going on with my Fury?
