A buddy sent this to me. Great marketing strategy ... muscle on a budget.

Geez...look at that price! But of course how much an hour did one make in 1969? 50 cents, maybe 75 cents or a buck? Neat ad!

Love these old ads.

there was no shortage of buyers around my area for the 69'. All it took is a rich Pop's to pay cash.cash talks. and many did.

It was just another Sales Bank slow mover rammed down the dealer's throat.
The base Roadrunners were more of a dealership draw back then. Once in the showroom the visions of HEMI'S, A12's and options like tacks, bucket seats and consoles would bring the tab up around $3500.00 and lots of profit.

My new 69 Roadrunner came in at just over $3700.00. Options ..... auto trans, decor group, am/fm radio & the A12 package.

Yeah. I walked into Trautman Dodge with visions of a Super Bee. I drove out with a Dart.... :icon_rolleyes:

I walked into dealers when I was 18 and about the best there was 84 Shelby with a stinking turbo1 motor, just could not do a ford mustang and much like now gm dealers give me hives, so I joined the Navy and bought a crotch rocket and a totaled 76 Cordoba yes corinthain leather and all.

I should have kept this Dart. If I had a dollar for every expert ,that told me you know they never made those I would be rich.
