1979 Chrysler Newport Police Car
This factory E58 code cop car was a former Oklahoma Highway Pursuit vehicle. This rare R body is complete and original. The drivetrain is an E58 360 with its factory lean burn ignition still intact and functional. An interesting feature I noticed was the Chrysler ELB computer mounted to a dual snorkel HP air cleaner, yup that was factory. The 360 is backed by a 727HD transmission followed to a 9.25 sure grip rear end. As stated earlier the Newport is very complete with all its factory police options such as the certified 125mph speedometer and a clean set of vented dog dish hub caps over the 15x7 slotted steel wheels. The car even still has a pair of grill lights mounted behind the grill. The Newport is currently turn key and yard drives. The car has not been on the road for 7+ years. I’m sure it will need a carb rebuild, brake, and exhaust work. Serious buyers please message me. Cash or possible trades welcome. Thanks for reading.

Car looks solid and with the drive train combo would be desirable to someone looking for something different and not breaking the bank. Especially if they did all of the work themselves. They were solid, nice riding, comfortable cars. A buddy of mine had one back in the day and it was a nice cruiser. With the cop car wheels it got respect on the road.

cant see enough of it, and iim not on FB at all.

first glance asking price may be ok, if it has any documentation to confirm its duty use. finding rear bumper and fender/quarter extensions tough though. cannot see interior, underside from what's shown to NON FB people.

i would look at it if i was in market for one. E58 Newports R squads are one year only, and still with most of their cop goodies intact, are hard to find in this apparent shape

I like it but the apparent milky oil/gas leak on the pavement should be checked out. If it's only a fuel leak that's not as bad but if that's a milky oil leak, that could be head gaskets.

Unusual that it has carpet instead of black rubber floor mats. The puddle of foam is probably soap from the hose job.

Seems like a great deal compared to some other cop cars that have been run through here. I hope someone saves it.

A member asked me to message dude on FB about the car. The guy already has a pending sale. I guess people want to jump on this one.
