A sentient computer with a complex. A man made machine with a conscience. HAL is THE most interesting element in that movie. I can watch that movie a hundred times and still walk away with something fresh to chew on. AND the space hardware. oh, my.
 
Yes Fred. The slabs make me lust after them .. I don't lust after those Toro's
To each his own. The slabs have an entirely different thing going on. They seem to be far more....deliberate, duplicative. Although they seem to have gone to the max with pushing the relationship between the height of the roof and the rest of the car body with the c's.

May have ... the tendency of different systems to evolve together.. something like that?
something like that. Convergence is the point in the (near?)future where man will revel in successfully creating artificial or synthetic intellect that matches our own, if not surpasses it. The implications are profound.
