Apparently I'm one of the millions who "doesn't get it". There's C body bizzaro world & then there's the world that the rest of us live in.

The days of lugging a big camera around have passed. Dave still uses one of those 10 pound cell phones in a bag from the eighties. Why change, it's still working fine.

But why driving a two ton C-body semi truck then ? :)

Well, my 67 Polara is getting a 6.1L & my 72 Imperial is getting throttle body injection if that answers your question. I also have several modern Mopars that I use for my daily drivers.

But disadvantages of the old basic design are still inherent.
Like putting new ingredients in an oversized 80s cellphone.

You are barking at the moon

Not trying to convince Ross of the opposite, just curious what's behind the resto mod idea in the first place. To me the most interesting thing with old cars is the way you can actually relive practically 100 % and first hand history, the way driving was 40 plus years ago, something you can't relive with one of these civil wars reenactments or something like that.

I actually tend more and more to look for 50s full size bias plied full size muscle cars.

Are you speaking from experience about the Civil War reenactments?

No, just a (little far fetched) comparison and I'm grateful to have been spared war action.
Basic line: What happens to you in an original car today would have happened to you back then as well.

I think it has to do with the "Degree" of what your changes are. A different or newer style engine doesn't change how the car handles as much as it changes economy or dependability. I have a cell phone that I use for emergencies or on the road but for photos I use an older Olympus digital. Change is NOT always a better thing.....look at our government.

If change is such a good thing, why does everyone want an old car......
Art Deco furniture...
Buffalo nickels...
Hand carved carousel horses...
You're right, Red, "Change is NOT always a better thing."
