The CL add is right. It looks more orange than anything else to me. The second car (post #10) looks like a color seen on two tone Dobas and Volare/Aspens of that era.

Looks close to saddle tan. So either the car was repainted which blows his claims out of the water or he is very good with Photoshop which would have an easy time making it look more orange. Need to see and shoot the car in RAW.

Most of the time when I see these cars in person the Re-paint mix is way off.

You know that would give you an idea of the paint quality used. Take PPG with their Deltron, Omni and Shopline paints. Deltron double Omni in cost but it also has far more tints available for mixing colors compared to Omni. I have first hand experience with that when I painted the Mustang which is another rarer color called Pebble Beige. Deltron was truer in that it had that creamy look to it while Omni had more brown in it.

So if someone told me he used PPG paint I would know, from previous knowledge, that Deltron could be pretty much an exact match while Omni wouldn't get that close.

Its all in the camera settings and light

The car in the original photo would be unrecognizable if you saw it in person after seeing it in the photo . You'd probably be highly disappointed.

Here's another example of that MU2 colour. I took these photos and talked to the owner of this 4dr at Moparfest a few years ago. It is an older re-paint, so I can't say it's an exact match to the original finish. It kind of looked like '71 LE5 Butterscotch, but not exactly. I think it looks pretty good with the white interior and vinyl roof.

The camera settings may have changed Dave, but that is one beautiful car you have there.
F-stops be damned.

Thanks, if you guys remember the first photo was when the car was for sale with little interest and zero bids . If the seller had cleaned the car and parked it with the sun to his back he would have had better results .

The subject car color looks great to me but at some point I think I would grow tired of the color, I find it a bit overbearing.

The 78 model year had a U3 Caramel Saddle Tan Metallic. More like a dark bronze. I don't remember ever seeing this color.

My first Doba was a 78 in Caramel Tan Metallic MU3. Loved that colour! Its disolving away now but one day....
