Look close. There is a Teamster badge on that Chauffer's cap.
There used to be pride....

ya, used to be.

until the union itself got greedy and bloated. they dont give a **** about anything but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to line their fuckin coffers and build these grand "halls" that show their greatness and power. ******* crooks just like the rest of the people they are in bed with.

rant over

This has been an interesting thread to read start to finish. I drove a small 1600 gallon home heating oil delivery truck for a couple winters in the early 80s (plus a couple dump trucks on occasion), which is about the extent of my truck driving experience. Had a teamster card for that brief time too. For a 23 year old kid, it was especially fun when the muffler fell off the oil truck (gas International 345 v-8) and I could "go through the gears" of the 5 & 2 (that poor two speed differential). Made me feel kinda like a big shot.

Anyway, the real reason I'm piping in to this thread is that yesterday my bride and I were out for a drive and we ran across a guy polishing up his restored cement mixer. I can honestly say I've never seen one of these beasts of burden restored...

Remember when it was J. B. Hunt that we all used to kick sand in their face?

Not that they are respected and I don't agree with their business practices they do drive better since they got rid of out of school hires and raised their pay in order to keep not just recycle drivers.

A friend of mine who is retiring from the business sent me this video link about a career driver. 6.5 million miles in the same truck he bought new.
