it is correct to conclude that, with these giant wheels and barely there tires, this "donked" class 8 truck is useless as a work vehicle (and possibly unsafe to drive yes?

I really don't get that but I don't get it on the cars either. Too old for that silliness and not old enough to retire.

Can the Mods outlaw those pictures. They offend me, JK.

Lemme tell yeah Dave, when the seaz git rough and those big tubz start listing to Port and Starboard the onez above deck can and sometimez do git launched. Then before they sink they'll try to hook 'um in one of the upper or lower corner pocketz and drag 'um back aboard. Tell yeah some time 'bout the time I got nailed at one of the chicken housez in Michigan with a legal load but with 48 bushel on the wagon tandumz, lol

Almost looks like some dummies tried to transport a container rig...
Far fetched but nothing is beyond the bounds of sanity anymore.

Yeah I know the ocean containers have it rough. That one is a 53 foot rail North America only container. We had a A-HOLE DOT cop that would hang out at the New Stanton PA green stamp cash box and write every one of those for about 2 months for being 8 inches over length (the thickness of the front bolster on the chassis) what a jackass he knew those were not going to stick but must have wrote hundreds because there were many loaded out of Sony.

Since there's a bunch of truckers here, I'll share what just happened.

My youngest step son has been driving for a short time. He went through the tractor trailer school and got a job driving for US Express. He's doing pretty well and from all reports, they seem to like him. It's not surprising, he's got a good work ethic and is a nice guy. Two days ago, they gave him a new truck... A brand new Kenworth, so he must be doing OK. He's really enjoying it too.

Just this morning, in S. Carolina, he was hit from behind. Witnesses say they passed everyone on the shoulder and pretty much just drove into his trailer at about 100MPH. The car hit, bounced off and then knocked down a telephone pole on the other side of the divided highway. He has a bunch of witnesses, including a retired US Express driver that saw the whole thing.

The driver is in pretty bad shape... They took him to the hospital. My step son is obviously shaken up and as I write this, he is sitting on the side of the road waiting for everything to get wrapped up.
