OK you truckers...

Not sure, It's a water hauler (which we all dog on) usually 2 to 3 trailer axles. Either way looking at those tractor tracks it wasn't swung out enough, didn't line to the left side on approach.

I can remember in northern Maine, which this is not, the pulp trucks running like this. You were on paper mill roads and the trucks had the right of way. They posted signs letting you know what CB channel they were on.

“OK the rumor mill is spinning on this video, and the theories have been great. So the Story, the driver had jackknifed at the top of the grade. When the driver had lost it at the top of the hill, he had broke the air lines to his rear trailer. This caused the brakes on the rear trailer to lock up. We arrived on scene and were informed the tow was going to be extended. So we asked the driver if he could get himself going and we would give him space to get down to the next open shoulder on the Interstate. 20 minutes later he was off the highway and we were open with flowing traffic.”

I did slide a container all the way down a hill in route 28 north of Kittaning PA. Tandems banging into the hillside through the grass and such, I think it was the only thing that was keeping my speed down, the ice was so slick you could not modulate the wheel lock and when they did lock I started picking up speed. Very unnerving and glad I did not hit anything. Mine was a controlled slide but with only one trailer about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of a mile, then let it go near the bottom to make up the other side. So yeah I could see that in the video as being correct.

The video is deceiving, only the rear trailer wheels are skidding. The truck, first trailer and dolly are rolling just fine. It appears the driver went wide to keep the trailer on the road as the trailer wanted to slide sideways because of the road camber or brake issues.
