OK you truckers...

Ok, you guys, WhereTH is this?
Look at the building in the background.
I've never seen such a thing.

UPS somewhere.
I also disagree with trucker argument, we are always right, the discussion is just a way to past the time

I don't know, rail trailers with rust stained side walls from train wheels and alot of roll up door high cube vans without giant fed ex lettering, sure looks like a UPS something or at least a place they move a lot of freight for Amazon or some other LTL, mutipoint shipper.

The USPS Main Post Office in Down Town Detroit haz ah 2nd floor elevated loading and unloading dock with a single lane to access and exit with S curve in it down and straight out onto Jefferson ave. THAT'Z WAY FUN IN JANUARY LOADED OR MT. Ask me how I know this, aaarrrggghhhh!

Both were extremely non-professionals.
The oncoming truck never touched the brakes so he was obviously texting or watching ****.
The truck that pulled into the path of the oncoming truck show rookie poor judgement and inexperience.
The truck that watched it? I've sat in that seat.

The guy who pulled out must have thought he was dealing with 4 wheelers... I understand the mentality when traffic volume is high and patience is low... not that I love it... the morons that do it to me on my AM commute when there isn't a single car to be seen behind me piss me off to no end... 80K seems a little big for aggressive behavior or unconscious driving...

I believe it was fortunate for the driver of the truck with the right of way that he hit the trailer in the axles... but brakes might have worked too.

Catnip, In the trade we call that selective vision. They look but they don't see. Happenz every day all over the country but usually with 4 wheelerz. This time maybe hiz turbin slipped down over hiz eyez, Jer

This is one of those situations where you see someone creep forward but don't think they are stupid enough to actually go.

While driving my 67 Barracuda I had one pull out, see me coming, stop, and start to back up, that is when I locked it up and left a mold of my bumper in his side. Had he kept going I'd clear him in the rear with minimal braking

Few years later in poring rain driving a 73 Barracuda I had a car pull out and stop with his rear in my lane, it was clear and no reason for him. Needless to say I did everything I could pumping and steering to try and clear his rear, didn't happen, needed about 18" more, I spun him 90^, again not even a scratch to my car.

Now as for this, it does appear the oncoming driver did try to steer clear. I'm not sure if these trucks have anti-lock brakes but but at the speed he was going and seeing it from his perspective I'm not sure it would have made a difference.

The location US-97 and W-14 in Washington had a merge lane at the time (2013) and in the video I'd say the oh **** moment was when the oncoming driver was about where the merge lane ends (on the other side) that is 400' from the intersection, that being said here is his perspective in 2013.

And now, maybe they thought eliminating the merge lane may keep people from cutting it close.
