OK you truckers...

You're suppose to take both hands off the wheel and shift the two sticks simultaneously.
And not drop one ash off of your cigarette.

Another day not working on my Fury. Had to get her towed in Tuesday. Worked Wednesday, pulled the fuel pump off Thursday, took a run to Mobile so I could go by Cummins and pick up a new pump, put it in today and gave her a bath. The driver can get back in her Monday morning and I can take the rental back. Maybe next weekend...

What are they getting for those pumps nowadays?
I have one here I have to open up and put a new input shaft in. It was $200 for the shaft, wtf

$900 for a Cummins recon pump, gasket, and a few O-rings to swap over the filter head. I probably could have got by with a new shaft and spider gear. The splines on both where wore slap out and letting the spider spin on the shaft. I'm not a diesel mechanic by any means so opening up the pump I wouldn't know what else should or could be replaced. With close to 2 million on it I just changed it out.

I was just curious. The pump I'm talking about is my spare now.

Another day wrenching on one of the trailers. I get to tinker on the Fury when I'm caught up on maintenance. With 4 trucks and 7 trailers I don't get to tinker much, lol

I have been chasing a leak in my intake system, down to 30-32 psi intake pressure.
Found it yesterday with a jug of soapy water @1200 rpm
Intake gasket blew out on forward head, 16.45 for 3 new ones. Thank God it is not another air charge cooler. I did have to go to Ohio to get them.

Leave it off at the garage and it will be ready in the morning.
:)

I'm 100% convinced that if I were to go RV'ing, I would only do it if it was using a classic Pete chassis and cab. Driving and touring would then be Nirvana for me
