I’m a Fusie Guy

I do not like the Fury

The 300 2-door is the cat’s meow!

Wanting a CHP car is what got me into C-Bodies and quickly zeroed in on the 69 as it was the nicest looking one. But hanging out here and seeing the other offerings has me liking the 69/70 Chrysler 300 the most but must be a 2-door (hardtop or convertible). In comparing the difference in the Monaco over the Polara has me not liking the Monaco and no 73’s or 4-door hardtops, just don’t like the rear window.

That being said would I ever get another C-Body? Well I do have a second 69 Polara 4-door sedan and it would have to go if a different C-Body was desired. In the end I doubt my next project will be a C-Body, I have a few ideas but still trying to convince myself I’m done with projects after the CHP car is done.

I’m kind of unique in the Police Car circle as I’m a fan of the car not the agency, some of those people are police groupies, I’m just a Mopar nut who happens to like old police cars.

Well if we're going to spill it... If there's one thing I've learned from hanging out here it's that I like them all.

Are you feeling guilty Alan or are you trying to tell us your shopping for another c.

Nope, a C-Body does make for a cool daily driver. Five years ago I couldn't tell one Polara from the next, differences yes but no idea what years they were etc.

Prior to two years ago when I joined this site I hardly looked at a C-Body unless it was Black & White. I have always loved looking at the Forward Look cars but would never want one (still dont), they are works of art but not something I see myself driving. Now I have a good idea what is out there, what the differences are, what I like and don't like.

I was just thinking earlier that if i was to get something different and it was a C-Body and I saw a posting for a Fury and thought it might as well be a Ford, I don't like it.

Well before my getting the CHP car I had noticed that I like the evolution in the Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge designs where the Coke Bottle lines came in. 1967 on the Barracuda, 68 On the B-Body then 69 on the C-Body, the bodylines on the Fury still look a lot like the slabs, not me (I think it is the excessive lines on the body that I don't like). Even my truck, I have a 70 (61-71 design) but I like the 72-93 far better.

But in the C-Body world I have been noticing the different details an the 69/70 300's got it. Don't waste time with extra doors save that for the Dodges.

At this time I have 4 vehicles and do not see adding another, having two restored cars would complicate working on another restoration and nowhere to park it when it is done.

So any work done to my other Polara will need to be done offsite or not at all.

So you want a 69/70 300 but you have no plans yet on getting one.
That's it? That's the big confession? lol

In a nutshell, yes. When the CHP car is done I may entertain the idea of a 300 but I think it will need to be a respectable driver and would replace the Other Polara.

This whole thing started as more a realization that that I have bracketed it pretty well already.

I came here looking for a c body, any c body. Now I have become sort of a snob, only wanting a Chrysler or Imperial, slab or formal not much of a fusie fan and they all seem to be going to Europe anyway. One will be in my future just not anytime soon, my project list is too big, so I get my c body "fix" here, guess I'm just stuck with a,b,e.

Take another look at a Monaco....they are all good looking cars.

In general I like the simpler styling on the Polara, the 72 with the flip-up headlights, nope! The funky backup lights on the 71, nope! The 73 overall grill change does nothing for me.

I had no intention of getting my slab Polara, just wanted to save it from a goofball.

Yes in deed!

I could like a formal Monaco or Royal Monaco.

I think a formal Monaco would be great for you. Great cars! Plus we need more formal members. lol. 2, or 4dr??

I used to be partial to fusies, then fell in love with formals. They may not be the prettiest (In some eyes) of em all, but Damn formals are such a great driving car.

Not huge on slabs myself. Although I do like slab fury's, and '66 newport/New yorkers. Beautifull cars!

Me personally I like the slabsides the best. 1967-1968 are my focus years. I'am a fury guy at heart. I played around with a 68 monaco..... it's a bear to work on the dash compared to the fury.

The day I walked out to the parking lot after work and I saw Jimmy Nordstrum's brand new NYB St. Regis, that pretty much settled it.
