Opening the console lid

Mine may be missing something, but there is no way to open the lid. Has anyone designed something in form of a handle to help open the heavy flat lid. thanks

Hmmm,, I will have to investigate. If there is supposed to be such, it would certainly help open him up. Just hard to get fingers under edge to lift....almost have to go to rear end to get a hitch on the thing. But, thanks, will look for something. Am thinking of attaching a strap loop underneath that sits out at front to grab....would not deface it?

Maybe one of those wall hanging loops that sticks on and can be easily removed without marring the walls? Just for diagnostic purposes until the broken spring is found and replaced.
