I have been tinkering with a 69 newport and I see that it has a different booster and master assembly than my 300. My 300 Is a dual diaphragm style while the newp in a single.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Maybe there is a heavy duty version?

Disc brakes had the dual diaphragm type.
Drum brakes had the smooth one that is clamped together.

I'm not sure, but I believe it has to do with heavy duty suspension/ trailer tow package. I've owned 7 or 8 fuselages, mostly 71's and they all had single diaphragm boosters. All but one were factory disc brake cars. I snagged a dual diaphragm booster at a junkyard a while back, it was in a '69 Chrysler wagon.

My car came to me with drum brakes and a dual diaphragm booster. When I converted to disc I bought a new booster for a D150 pickup because it was the correct diameter and I believe the same as what was in my car except the mounting. I had to build an adapter. I left the large diameter booster in the 73 parts car and put my old master cylinder on it. Swapped the proportioning valves and everything worked on both cars.
I'll post a Pic of what was on my car
