Im using a Firecore distributor with the Orange ignition box they included. The first box was bad. The engine would hardly run. The second replacement box the engine ran better, no hesitation but the idle was lousy. I tried everything under the sun to get it to idle better and I never considered the ignition. I wound up reinstalling my old distributor with a Pertonix conversion, its a two wire setup. The car ran much better, started faster, idle was good.
I ordered a new stock box which came today and im going to try that
I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with these orange box's which I assume are imports.
Thanks for any replies

The replacement units made in China are a crap shoot as the electronics have very poor quality control. I do not use them. If you want a good factory replacement:
www.ebay.com/str/ricksmopars Rick Rehrenberg supplies units made in the US that are first line quality and are highly reliable. If you have a vehicle that came with a mechanical voltage regulator, you need to get rid of that unit as part of the conversion. Mechanical regulators produce lots of static and do not play well with any electronic conversion.
