Oriental Theatre 1927. A fee blocks away from my parents house. I went there when I was a kid. It is still in operation. Even has a bowling alley in the basement.
It is a shame that Notre Dame burned down in Paris. I've been there many, many times in the 70's, 80's, and the 90's while I was in the Army. Beautiful stained glass, unbelievable woodworking and spectacular architecture.That building survived 2 FN World Wars and all of the revolutions and other BS in that country for centuries. We will probably find out the fire was an accident started by the contractors working on its renovation.

That seems to be a really expensive undertaking for what appears to be a lot of risk. But lifestyles are changing, even here out West. Is the location in an area where people would feel safe? It seems that would be the most important determinant of the likely success of that venture. Is Milwaukee growing a lot these days, i.e. some revival going on it seems?
