Prior to the use of collapsing columns (67) steering wheels were designed with a good amount of "dish" to take up some of that energy before you'd meet the actual shaft.

You should be good to hit another car up to about 60, or a wall at 30+ before the column comes to get you. Not that I'm advising you try.

The steering coupler that is now in my car is still okay, in my opinion.

I already had two of the Range Rover parts, but unfortunately no machine shop is able to shorten them (both destroyed).
Thanks for the info that I can build it in without editing them, I've never tried.

I popped one of the Range Rover rag joint couplers in without slicing it. It moves the steering wheel and column up a additional 5/16", but is otherwise fine. Glad I did that job too, as I had to hold the OLD one together WITH A BIG HOSE CLAMP!

Stub frame should be good. I will check it out tomorrow to make sure. I would like to keep the car together until the engine sells though. And until it cools off some!

No BIG hurry on my end either. I'll send you a deposit if you like if that stub frame is good. If this one has the bigger torsion bars for the RB motor, I'll want them as well. BTW, what do you want for that 413 and TF747? I might like it if its a tight enough motor! 413s be STRONG! Yes, I think you now have something worth my driving to Phx for....

Front bumper is in very good driver condition. Straight with no rust and decent chrome. $150 plus shipping. Be warned shipping will be expensive. Pick up would be better.

Very nice grille with headlight covers. Up grade your Newport? Good chrome. Only issue is right side mounting stud is broken off and missing. Doesn't show and it still should mount solidly. $150 plus shipping. It's heavy so be aware shipping will be expensive.

LOVELY shiny stuff from the front! How's the back stuff looking? Mind you, I drive a '66 Newport, though it apparently was made in the Fall of 65 and sold early in '66. I think I want both torsion bars with that stub frame too. My passenger side one got nicked recently when the idler arm went bad. Best to keep those paired.

The rear bumper is not as nice. A good core. I'm going to start trying hard to sell the motor and transmission so then the rest of it can come apart. Yes you can have the torsion bars with the stub.

Still wanting those firewall terminal blocks from you Chris if possible - you wanted to keep them for the time being to show the running motor etc., but once it's sold, perhaps I can get those parts from you...

Oh, BTW, please pop that 6 circuit fuse block from the dash. I WANT that too. W a SPARE, I can replace clips nicely, THEN pop in a working box.
