The other day I was looking for a picture in my old 3x5 prints (pre digital) and ran across a picture of a gas station taken in 1987.
I took two pictures, the other not printed matched the orientation in the vintage picture. I could not recall taking the pictures but were part of a roll I knew were mine.
In the print I had I didn't have an address just the number and phone number. It took an hour or so and I located it. Still trying to find out why I took these and another location I started Googling the address and the Black and White below showed up, clicking on it the color version showed up. Apparently in 1987 I saw a vintage picture (probably one of these) and felt compelled to go to those locations and take current pictures. Quite possibly the beginning of this Finder path I have been on. I may scan the negative for the other frame.

In looking into the other location I couldn't find a picture I felt might have made me go to that location. May look into that more.

Former Lew Williams/Joe Romania -1969 til closure 2005) Chevrolet, 2020 Franklin, Eugene OR.

Built 1939 as a Coca-Cola plant, it become Lew Williams Chevy in 1949.

Mid-century modern showroom (with its distinctive "potato chip" roof) didnt get added by Lew Williams until 1960.

Owned now by University of Oregon and they are trying to figure out how to redevelop it. Its now an historic structure too, so that limits their options.

They haven't been around for years, but I remember the tow trucks from "Day and Night". They were painted black and white, one half black and the other half white, split right down the middle of the truck. They had at least one large Mack tow truck for towing big trucks.

This building was torn down in 1949 for the Onondaga County War Memorial, now know as the Upstate Medical University Arena.

Dawes Easterly Ford, address unknown, Baton Rouge, LA, ca. 1960. Looks to be porcelain clad, clearly deco influence. Hobby garage sized.

Lloyd King Ford, 5912 Pacific Blvd, Huntington Park, CA, circa 1937. Snazzy joint back in the day, too much to hope for in this part of LA it would still be there.

It is not.
