Blaisdell%2BMtrs.jpg

Former Main/Blaisdell Motors, 315 Main Street, Minot, ND. Bullt 1927, art deco, 31K sq. ft. plus basement, probably many things in those hundred years, remodeled in 1983, now Main Medical Building.

Appears to started life as Main Motors "Desoto Plymouth", then "Chrysler" when it became "Blaisdell" plus a remodel to put a huge service entrance on the Main Street Corner.

Later years, subdivided and re-skinned, at street level you'd never know what it was -- if you didn't know what it was. The domed roof from elevation gives it away (plus the history of the address of course).

Good ultimate re-purpose of one of these giant old barns. White-elephants/in city centers (heating/cooling, pricey land irresistable sub-division/razing candidates, etc) otherwise....

Built about 1940, former Doenege's Ford, 310 Osage Ave, Bartlesville, OK.

Long moved from this building, a typical industrial early moderne brick/limestone, dealership appears to have grown into TWO different, adjacent buildings. Doenege's is still operating a Ford Ford dealership in another part of town.

I think, reskinned, remodeled, the "bones" are still there. ABout 10K sq. ft., clear span, single story.

A trip, to Winston-Salem yielded this little gem. Claims to be the last Shell shaped shell gas station.
