Peekskill, NY There's an hour or so of shoveling to be done to get that car out... And for those of you that has never done that, the snow piled up by the plow is dense and heavy. It will be even worse after it sits for a while. You'll work up a sweat even in cold weather.
1959, Dave Cole Pontiac, Admiral Wilson Blvd at Airport overpass, Camden NJ.
Common, big boix industrial architecture --- showroom front end, offset from the main drag to park product out front, attached to service/parts, surrounded by asphalt -- with lots of neon.
Not completely sure TODAY's building is a heavily remodeled remnant of the original dealership Other buildings have been added, even connected over the years. Historical aerials show what MAY have been original building footprint 1956 thru to today.
Maybe a long time local folower of this thread knows?
1959.
Today -- original dealership building furthest to the left of this photo.
Only cuz I dig Packard, and am connected to Detroit.
Above, the former Packard dealership in Downtown Detroit, 574 E. Jefferson, circa early 1940's. In the showroom, right is North (Jefferson Avenue), looking straight ahead to the west.
Built 1930, was other things from 1958 when Packard went out of business, other things until .... it came down (along with 15 acres of other stuff) in 1971-73 to build the Renaissance Center) completed in 1976), nowadays known as the "GM Building".
The Packard showroom was left (east) side of this pic, where the two shorter buildings (500 and 600 Tower) were added to the complex.
