Ford truck plant in Louisville. 1973.
I watched this being done in the late 90's in the Norfolk F-150 plant and it was aligned by lasers and dropped onto the cab and chassis. No humans involved.

Unlike Chrysler, some lines put the engine in from the top.
This is a a 1967 Ford XR Falcon, so I assume this is an Australian plant.

They got rid of the cool neons and the all-window walls. Sad.
From the author: "Bagott Motors on Main Street Palouse, Washington (pop. 1055) opened in 1929. It was a 3rd generation family business and still operates today. The storefront neon sign was installed in the 1950s and is modeled after the owner’s signature. At one time the dealership sold 200+ vehicles a year."

My kind of dealership in Hoisington, Kansas: previously the Manweiler-Maupin, now the Ehler, Chevrolet dealership in Hoisington, Kansas. Cool neon sign, great building, nice setting. From the Travel Kansas website:
"Constructed in 1944, the Manweiler – Maupin Chevrolet Dealership building is a rare example of a WWII-era auto dealership. The one-story blond brick building features a curved showroom with plate glass windows that accommodates a single display vehicle. The world’s largest neon Chevy bowtie sign sits atop the building. Restored in 1998, the large neon sign lights up the south end of Hoisington’s Main Street and welcomes travelers headed into town on US 281 highway. Horizontal banding extends around the showroom and service bay and a curved corner window features glass block, features characteristic of a Streamline Art Moderne building reminiscent of the 1930s. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 9, 2012. (...) Manweiler-Maupin Chevrolet, National Historic Place is found along the Wetlands and Wildlife National Scenic Byway."

That sign has been fully restored at this point, wish it was left original, would have been really cool

Note the passenger side wiper arm. Looks like notes on it, probably with what's wrong.
Some info from this Rt-66 site: "main street view of TEE PEE CURIOS or according to the spelling on the neon sign, "TEPEE", (at) 924 E Rte 66 Blvd in Tucumcari, NM 88401. Built in the early 1940’s, this old Gulf gas station eventually succumbed to the widening of Route 66, losing its pumps but gaining new business selling curios to Route 66 travelers."

@Welder guy posted almost 20 more gas stations in Tucumcari back in 2019. Here are my four favorites in no particular order:
The caption of this was "high school shop class". I think it's a shop classroom, but I'll bet those are drivers ed students, based on the number of girls. Girls didn't take shop classes back then.

I don’t remember this place, but we’re heading back there in early March for my niece's graduation from nursing school in Tucson.
