Photos of Vintage Auto Dealerships, Repair Shops, and Gas Stations

I'd a bet money this joint was gone.

James F. Waters DeSoto, November 1935. Van Ness at Bush, San Francisco CA.

At one time, world's largest DeSoto dealer. Back when everything about the urban retail vehicle business was indoors in these giant, reinforced concrete boxes.

Whaddyah know. Still there, still a dealership.

Approaching 100 years standing, looks like it could easily go another century.

For something different... 1965 Ford Magic Skyway at the '64/65 Worlds Fair in New York City. I rode in this! Disney designed this for Ford and the dinosaur portion is still used in a ride at Disneyland.

Note the bumper on the Lincoln. From what I have read, that was so the cars could bump into each other, presumably without people in them at the time.

Body parts for the '48 Tucker. I'm thinking this is either a parts department or QC area.

Sherwood Ford, at the corner of MO 367 (Lewis and Clark) and Lusher Rd, N. STL County. The original home of, "Bigfoot", one of the first monster trucks. No longer there, went out of business long ago. Bad reputation, I can personally attest to that. I bought a new 77 Mustang Cobra II there.
Last I saw it was a U-Haul store.
