Popup that covers half the screen

Those of us with Apple computers can go into Safari's website settings and check the box to "Enable content blockers". Doesn't remove all ads but I have no idea what you guys are talking about with pop-up ads on this site, so I guess this is working for me.

Mobile devices, not laptops or desktops.

Gold members dont see these ads
I love how your policy is to harass users into paying you a subscription fee. The value in this site is provided by the users not the owners. I would gladly follow these guys elsewhere. The adds have been absurd for years and I have had my go around and in multiple cases the site management has said that the smut adds are due to other content on view on this phone.
Not the case as much as you guys would like to smear that **** around.

What you might consider is adds from applicable vendors, like I don't know, say car **** maybe. Then we could click the link and you could get add revenue .

But the pasting an add over the content box really takes the cake that's a big F U. Subscribe or F off.
At this point it ain't about the money.

I hate so say it but this is correct. The adds are based on YOUR search algorythm ;).

But yeah, I didnt want to say it like thus but I agree. 100% get herassed into a paid subscription, but thats why the ads make me pretty much stay away from this forum most of the time, its absolutely painstakingly annoying and I wont concern myself with all this ad crap. So I stay away. The forum was very valuable to me and i dont mind an ad banner here or there but when the ad already takes half the screen and then this thing randomly pops up and makes the forum unuseable unless I pay... i can just say goodbye then. I observed this for a while now...

I hate to say this but I don't give a **** what you say or what anybody else says I DONT SEARCH SMUT ON MY ******* PHONE!

I literally have a folder of screenshot of adds for women's underwear something that I have never ever shopped for. Wife is in charge of her own underwear.

Furthermore if they were searched based, or content viewed based, the adds I see would be automotive, industrial mechanical equipment, or home depot crap which in fact they never are. This phone is encoded per company policy and has never been used by others.
Additionally, this is not the only car site I frequent and at no time have I ever seen such adds while on any other website than FCBO. ******* period. Ever.

Fuckin never

Not once

Sorry for my attempt at clarity. I'm just not a good commentator.
Certainly not aim at Knebel.

The self inflicted ads are VERY aggressive .
They take over most of the screen.
Clearing history does nothing to slow them down.
Forcing members to pay a fee to remove ads is a deal breaker for me………
I’m a hard time just posting this…….
I’m good with just checking in once in awhile.

I was trying to help save you from embarrassment . But you got this.

Shoutout to twostick who found and shared the solution with me. I have ZERO ADS anymore.

Okay man, I was really just trying to help explain how the ads work. Its not neccessary that YOU searched it. Its also connected to your IP. So if your wife searches underwear, you could still get ads for it. Believe me it happens in my house as well.

.... weirdly enough I can only access it with a proxy now that I complained about the ads.. Weird. Keep getting "origin error" through every and any browser I try to use. But all the other forums are still accessible ;) pretty strange

Edit: i see your ads are actually from etsy and Marshalls. Thats pretty typical and then the erectile disfunction stuff is targeted. I get some stuff too that is totally targeting my age group.

Given how much stuff our phones pick up and record on a daily basis, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Rusty had simply been near random people that were talking about whatever, or picking up audio from a TV etc. and then basing ads on that.
Coworker of mine was talking about buying quilts and bedsheets. A day or two later her phone is showing her ads for...quilts and bedsheets. She wasn't searching for it on her work computer nor her phone, and she doesn't even have a computer at home.

Whatever you guys did, seems to have fixed or cleared it up (the origin errors, that is...mostly). I know that IT is often a thankless job so...thanks! I think I was starting to get withdrawal shakes...
