Does anyone know the difference? I was looking at the borgeson steering box kit and they don't list one for the poly. I emailed borgeson and they indicated the two brackets are different.

Poly motor dates itself to pre 67, so the pump offered then is a TRW, or maybe federal.
The 69 cast iron water pump 318 did have a saginaw available.
I have no idea what pump you have to have with a borgeson, but if their pump uses saginaw brackets, there is one chance.
Or if they list one for a 69 small block, that would work.

They do list for the LA engine. What do I need to source from the later engine?

I don't know what pump borgeson uses, so no idea on bracket swaps.
But if you wanted to convert your poly to 70 and later LA, you need
Timing cover
Water pump
Balancer
Proper crank and water pump pulley
Alternator brackets
And the big one, lower radiator inlet is on the other side.
Doable, if your like me and have all that stuff.

So the architectural bolt holes for all of this are in the SAME physical place on both the Poly and LA V-8 blocks?

Due to model year, I would suspect the Poly ps pump to be the one with the round reservoir cap and top part of the housing. The 1969+ GM/Saginaw ps pump will have an oval-shaped and smaller diameter housing by comparison, with a smaller reservoir cap, too. Being "Saginaw", it will look just like what GM used on their cars in 1969+, too.

You changed your post after I responded. I said

So, like I said, I did not know what pump they used for the borgeson box.
I looked it up
It is just a saginaw.
All you need is a 1969 small block saginaw pump and brackets.

So yes, those brackets will fit a saginaw. Of course you can buy a pump with brackets for less, and it will have the correct pulley.
