I was wondering if anyone could help with some parts help on a pulley I have that the bearings fell apart. I have a 59 plymouth suburban with a 318 in the car. This is A 3 grooved pulley that has a belt that drives the generator and also has 2 belts that go to the bottom pulley and over to the a/c compressor. It attaches to a bracket with a shaft that goes into the pulley and looks like it had 2 bearings. I’m looking for a replacement or how (or if) those bearings can be replaced. See pics. Any help would be great

By the looks of it I would say the bearings are pressed onto the shaft and then pressed into the pulley. I am just guessing from the pic's though. Like Bob said though someone else should know.

Its weird, there are 2 races on that shaft( that bolts on to a bracket on the block.) There are 2 races on the shaft with the first on then there’s a snap ring between the first and second race. I’m thinking the 2 bearings are put on this shaft and then it must be pressed into the pulley.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? Do you get bearings, install them on the shaft and then press them into the pulley? Or do they just come together? I’m going to heat the pulley up tomorrow and see if I can get the races out. Until then..
