Question, Inner wheel bearings and seals

Using Tool C-3893, position...
My C-3893 tool:

I am not confused by the tool....what do they mean by this..."position seal flush with end of hub." Do they mean the whole seal or the "shoulder" metal part to be even with back of the hub?

The entire seal needs to be completely seated and therefore none of the side of the seal can be seen.
I think what they are saying is don't drive home the seal crooked.

Well, I hope this is right. Here is a picture before I put the hub on. There was no seal on the left side and the right side seal was installed backwards by PO.

If you havent installed the other one, post a pic of the other seal, both sides.
Yah, a pain, but we need to make sure. ThatzhowIworks :D

Hold off. Now that I see your seal, I'm screwed up.
I was visualizing this seal.

Your seal with two steps is not jarring any of my memory cells.

I wish somebody else would step up to the plate and confirm or not.

Here is how the proper seal works. Stan, that picture you posted is for some other seal I guess. My application is a 4 wheel power drum car...2 3/4" front and 2 1/2" rear shoes...'68 Newport.
