Rear end question

I found a cheap rear end on ebay and I'm wondering if it'll work on my 71 Fury. I always said if I found a cheap one I'd try and snap it up.

It's a drop out style rear end from from a 72 dodge pickup. I've read that these things are usually 64 3/8 inches which matches up with the 1970 through 1973 C bodies. But there was another entry on the list that said the 70-71 C bodies use 63 inch rear ends too. So which is it? Would it work or not? Also what sort of gear ratio could one expect to find on a 72 dodge pickup?

If is a 83/4 just swap the center sections. I took a 3.23 742 out of a 73 d100 dodge for my 67 b body. I don't even know what the 742 case came out of that I put in my 300 now.

If you want a cheap standby look elsewhere. There's nothing wrong with a truck unit, but, it won't bolt into your car without relocating spring perches from the top to the bottom of the axle. Nor is the length exactly the same.
