If you are reducing the oil pump pressure to try to reduce the amount of oil that gets past the rear main seal, I doubt that will help significantly, though I'd certainly like to know your results.I cut a coil out of the spring on the oil pump to see if it lowers the pressure a little. On a cold start up, she runs at 85 psi. I will let everyone know.
I have it down to about 4.5 hours with a quick lunch, sad, very sad.
Granted, the rearmost main bearing is right in front of the rear seal, but the oil isn't under high pressure once it seeps out from the bearing. IMO it's more about the volume of oil flowing past the bearing, and I don't believe the reduction in oil flow due to lowering the oil pressure is going to make a noticeable difference in rear seal leakage.
