Redeye Widebody

So, if Bob busts a rear end, and the data recorder is showing 1/4 mile runs, he's SOOL, right?

I'm not scared. Lol

Keep it stock without horsepower performance mods and the warranty will cover it. The service manager even told me that I wouldn't have a problem even with a diff brace installed. I'm preventing damage and not increasing horsepower.

Agreed Bob but some Service Managers are not so open minded...

Yep. I agree.

I have great relationship with the Service Dept Manager and crew. I have 2 hotrods and a Ram and give them all the maintenance work even the oil changes. I keep all of my vehicles in tip top condition so the service dept likes working on any of my vehicles. I have had numerous conversations with the service manager and he said I won't have a problem at this dealer at all as long as I don't add any horsepower mods.

There isn't anything I want to do with the Redeye except the diff brace. The Scat Pack is plenty fast too. Even the Active Exhaust on both vehicles are plenty loud in Track Mode and in my opinion would be foolish to modify or change. I did add the Carven exhaust tips to the Scat Pack but it's just a cosmetic change. The only other thing I have done is add a catch can assembly to all 3 vehicles from Billet Technology.

I never met one that has been. Only when I went to the owner.

So far......

This service manager hasn't let me down yet.

And if I have one of my vehicles in for service or repair and they can't get it done in an hour he has a loaner vehicle ready for me when I walk in the door.

Its clear you give them plenty of high end business and all the service work that goes along with it. They know very well how you treat and take care of your vehicles.

A dealership would be utterly stupid to treat you as anything but a valued customer that takes care of his vehicles and will be back for more in the future.

Good customer, appreciative dealership. That works.

Steve, remember your early days when Logic was actually taught in school?

2. All dealerships are utterly stupid.

3. Ergo... [ enter your answer here].

I have seen Demons and highly modified Hellcats make literally hundreds of passes in a weekend. Running harder than stock cars with sticky tires and good surface prep and I do not think I have ever seen one break a rear. Not saying it can't happen, but they have come a long way since 2008 set 8 cars, and their weak rears.

I have only seen a couple of the highly modified Demons and Hellcats that are in the 1200 hp range that are making 9 second passes grenade a diff. And both of those came apart while launching under maximum RPM's. I have seen another Redeye grenade a diff while doing a burnout when he released the Line Lock and let off the accelerator at the same time and destroyed the pinion end of the diff.

My plan is to stay the stock 800 HP and add the diff brace as an insurance policy. I plan on hitting the racetrack once in awhile and make 4 or 5 passes over a couple of hours.

There is a ton of things to learn on the Demon / Redeye SRT operations. Utilizing the Power Chiller and the After Chiller is just a start.

Cook Dodge has 2 customer lounges. One of them is on the 2nd floor and the other lounge is just past the service counter by the parts window. Well I always sit in the one by the parts window and I can hear the conversations the service dept is having with customers. Sometimes I hear the most cock-eyed idiot things that customers say to the service department. Most of the time those people don't have a clue on how a car works and they try blaming crazy things on unrelated work on their cars. And then the conversation changes to I'm going to call my lawyer and sue the dealer. Those people are never successful to get some hairbrain excuse to get the dealer to fix something totally unrelated to the original repair. The service manager will come over where I'm sitting to get a cup of coffee knowing that I heard the whole story and I'll just chuckle and tell him he couldn't pay me enough to take his job!

Wow! I just noticed that the Redeye has Express down on the power windows but going up is manual only mode. That is strange. My 300C Platinum, Scat Pack and the Ram all have Express down and up on the front power windows. There is only 2 windows and a sunroof on the Redeye so I would think the windows would have express down and up.

Gee Bob if it's that big a deal I'm sure we could retrofit it with a pair of these.

And if that won't work I'll take it off your hands!

That is one of my pet peeves with the Challenger.

Yes, I remember Stan when logic was a part of our curriculum, but having been on this site for a long time now, I find it didn't do much good even for many of those who were required to learn it.

But with all due respect to Graham whom I have worked with directly, he is definitely an exception. He is a smart guy.

Actually, maybe it is where I live or something, but I have had some interactions with dealerships out here that were very positive. I think the number of Lexus dealerships and other high end ones have raised the bar for dealerships to survive out here. Many of those high end cars are sold in this state, including Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi etc. and dealerships have to consider that to survive regardless of brand.

I remember the first time I went to deliver parts at a Lexus dealer, I thought they were mobsters! By that, I mean they were dressed in very nice suits, I didn't feel like I was at a car dealership at all. Some manager was pointing out how "tacky" one of the salesman looked, I haven't been dressed that nice, ever.
