Redeye Widebody

My Redeye doesn't have NAV. I guess I overlooked that when I was looking for a Redeye. I seen that it had the U-Connect 8.4 screen and assumed a $90k Redeye came with NAV. That's OK. It has Google Android Auto so I can still have NAV on the U-Connect screen via a USB cable and my phone.

Its clear you give them plenty of high end business and all the service work that goes along with it. They know very well how you treat and take care of your vehicles.

A dealership would be utterly stupid to treat you as anything but a valued customer that takes care of his vehicles and will be back for more in the future.

Good customer, appreciative dealership. That works.

Steve,

Thank You for the kind words!

Believe me guys the minute we connect our Witech module up to your Redeye and download all the data right to Detroit we know exactly how you drive the car and then use that intel as the stick to beat you with to deny warranty. That said we do try to keep mother out of the process as much as possible as doing warranty work versus no work is just good business. If we can blame you and get you to pay all the better but in the end we live by the ol’ axiom

“You can shear a sheep many times you can only skin him once!”

Graham,

Just thinking out loud.....

BTW, I'm not going to add any horsepower mods. She is plenty fast as is.

But......what if I had an unlocked Diablo sports ECM with a tune? And then put the stock ECM back in to take the Redeye in for repair or service. That Witech can't retrieve anything from the unlocked Diablo sports ECM if the stock ECM has been reinstalled. Right???

Easy enough. Go to the dealer, give them $600 give or take, and they will flash the system.

I prefer to not have Nav built in, I can figure out how to get where I need to be.

My brand new 2018 Caterham, just like our c bodies, doesn't have any of that crap, and I'm proud of it.

It'll scare the pants off you and it'd beat your Redeye's *** any day of the week through the twisty's up here in the mountains.:poke:

Just kidding Bob, I love your new car, just bustin' balls, someone has to keep you honest.

We all march to the beat of a different drummer, thank God or I'd be pretty boring, wouldn't it.

Enjoy your ride! As I will all of mine...:usflag:

The problem is Bob that every time you fire up the car the Diablo flashes the ECM so when we hook our Witech up it shows multiple flashes over and over which we translate into a tuner was installed. There is no way to circumvent this unfortunately

Cook Dodge has 2 customer lounges. One of them is on the 2nd floor and the other lounge is just past the service counter by the parts window. Well I always sit in the one by the parts window and I can hear the conversations the service dept is having with customers. Sometimes I hear the most cock-eyed idiot things that customers say to the service department. Most of the time those people don't have a clue on how a car works and they try blaming crazy things on unrelated work on their cars. And then the conversation changes to I'm going to call my lawyer and sue the dealer. Those people are never successful to get some hairbrain excuse to get the dealer to fix something totally unrelated to the original repair. The service manager will come over where I'm sitting to get a cup of coffee knowing that I heard the whole story and I'll just chuckle and tell him he couldn't pay me enough to take his job!
A good friend of mine in Ft Myers just had her car in the MB dealer for some work. at 15 years old, it really is time to start rethinking a bells and whistles model. When they called her with an estimate for repairs they negotiated the price on the phone... WTF, I never had negotiable prices! I do know that dealer went to matrix pricing on labor while I was there... 10 hours of my labor cost the customer 13, and they didn't even share the spoils... it was a good reason to move on.

I'm assuming they must be slow and the advisor was given permission to give back some of the theft... so when my friend asked me about tactics to get the job even cheaper... She wanted to try strong arm negotiations, I asked if she could give a convincing cry. She cried and claimed to be broke from the Corona... they went below her initial goal. Now she thinks she could have done better :realcrazy::lol:

Bad battery.......caused the flashes. LOL.

:poke:

You never heard of ROM? :poke:

The ROM is part of the ECM so if I swap out a Diablo unlocked ECM and make a few ProMod runs and then swap the original ECM back in I don't know how they could possibly retrieve that info when it won't be recorded in the ECM.

I wouldn't do that anyways. 800 hp is plenty.

Well......

I haven't taken a Redeye apart......yet.

Who knows how many data recorders they have on these cars.
