Replaced the fuel tank and sending unit on my wife's daily driver.
Ordered a tank and sender listed on rockauto for a 1967 New Yorker. The tank was a bit longer that the factory unit. Had to fab up a couple of bolts to hang the tank, the factory bolts ended up being too short with the longer tank. Was able to use the factory tank straps. Over all pleased with the end results. I know a lot of you are going ask why I didn't repair the old tank. We drive our car quite a bit. Just didn't want a repaired 50 year old tank. The tank and sender are Spectra. We just don't have many choices.

If you used the new lock ring that came with the sender, chances are that it is too thin and may not seal all that well. Some have let go with some scary results. They are too thin. Use the original one if you still have it, or maybe you did anyway. Throw the new one out if you didn't use it.

The tank came with a new locking ring and seal used them. Was pleased with the seal and placement of the locking ring after it was installed. I could see where the ring could be installed not centered and not fully locked into the three tabs on the tank. Thanks I will keep an eye on it.

I thought the '67 used a side filler and '66 uses the back bumper under the plate? Or did they not change that over until '68?

Some '65's were side fill. I think the 'verts. Except for the wagons, '67's were rear fill.
