Replacing cable on remote mirror 67 Fury

Any one ever do this? I have a great shell that is perfect and the remote that is perfect, but cable was broken. I have another unit that both the mirror and the remote is rough, pitted and rusted but the cable is in great shape.

Anyone ever swap a cable on this? Tricks? Pitfalls?

Any info or picks would be most appreciated.
