Bob’s Bar - Martinsburg, Nebraska
The sink for both the men’s and women’s restrooms is outside of the area where you do your business and in view of everyone in the restaurant.

The Whitehouse Restaurant in Clare MI. Opened in the 1930's on US-27. Seems to attract Mopars during the big car show in August.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are "malts"? a lot of the places seems to advertise "malts" and even "giant malts".

Most of those signs and buildings are a lot more bold and interesting than over here!

Please excuse my ignorance, but what are "malts"? a lot of the places seems to advertise "malts" and even "giant malts".
A "malt" is short for malted milk shake. Basically a milk shake which is ice cream and milk combined in a blender and then dry milk powder that has been mixed with malt is added. Malt itself is made from barley.

People that like them say they are more flavorful... Myself, I don't care for them... I like regular milk shakes. Actually, I like root beer floats better... And since you might not know what a "float" is, that's a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a glass of soda, my favorite being root beer.

Thanks for the explanation. I do know what malt is and that is what confused me. I only knew of it as an ingredient in beer, whisky and bread.

In recent years diners inspired by 1950's USA have been popping up over here. Most serve milk shakes and some serve floats, but I had never seen "malts".
