I was doing some body work over the weekend and the rear bumper was off. I snapped a picture of it and when I was looking at the picture I got an idea. Don't know if it's a good one, but just an idea. Instead of putting the bumper back on, I was thinking of fabricating a custom roll pan. I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 to add the roll pan to the picture.
It would be different, but kind of looks pretty cool IMO. What do you guys think?

I like the bumpers too. It may look decent from the rear, do a photoshop from a straight on side view and see if it looks funky.

Could you fabricate one without us laughing our asses off if it ever shows up on CL and one of us posts it?
Think about it....

I hear ya's as this was just an idea and I'm not sure myself. I think it looks pretty cool. Here's what it would like from the side if the roll pan was on the car.

I hear ya man. Like I said,..it was just a thought. Sort of a custom thing. Think about this though....The weight loss would be a plus, being that the rear bumper weights at least 50lbs! I will most likey leave it alone and put the rear bumper back on the car, but it was fun messin with the picture..LOL.

that's not a bad place at all to have weight. Really helps with weight transfer. Now ditch the front bumper and run a mini keg up front for a fuel cell and a solid front axle.

Photoshop it too please!

LMAO..! Like Commando said,..EPIC FAIL. I'll put the bumper back on and leave well enough alone.

My recently purchased A-body project might just end up a solid axle gasser tribute. But not a four wheel drive. LOL

Don't get discouraged by a couple negative comments. It's your car so do whatever you want & keep dreaming up new stuff. If everybody ran stock cars then hot rodding wouldn't even exist.

I like your idea & think you should keep playing with it. And, as you said, it's a pretty decent weight loss......
