Oh no the people are wayyyyyyy over taxed too. Me personally, I wouldn't tax income. I'd go straight consumption tax, with a wealth tax right behind it. Do away with income tax all together. It would never pass as the truly wealthy are deathly afraid of a wealth tax.

A straight across the board sales/consumption tax with zero loopholes, exemptions, and any other B.S. that is used.
One problem: While every Economist around says it makes the most sense, why doesn't it ever get past the sound bite stage?

Because everyone could control his tax payments to a certain degree by restraining his sales behaviour if he likes to. Undesireable for those who live on the expense of tax payers.

I would drastically reduce taxes for companies that return to the U.S, and triple them for those who refuse. The American technology drives China. Greedy self serving companies, and our Gov'T are what is hurting the U.S.

I put the current ills of our society in the lap of the majority that voted for them.....twice. Believe it or not (I totally believe it) we are much stronger than the Russians (OR anyone else on this globe) could ever hope to be. We have something that puts us way ahead of them and that's why I would not want to live anywhere else in the world.
