Have a 72 Fury 360 with factory air where I want to retrofit the locked up RV2 to Saden type and retain existing crank v-belt pulley. What bracket kits for compressor change do people prefer? Was considering the CVF brackets. Not sure what this clean Fury below has. Thanks

Chrysler beat you to it, about 1980. On my '80 Newport 360 2bbl, they went to a Denso axial compressor. Cools great. ONLY thing is that a new intake manifold is needed as the rear mount of the compressor needs the thermostat housing to rotate its mounting studs. Look at the Edelbrock Performer intake for the 318/360 engines. It has the dual-pattern flange for that reason. The rear-most inner bolt is where the Denso rear mount is. Housing looks to be the same, just clocked differently. Other intakes that do not have that dual-pattern flange only work on '79 and back factory a/c cars.

This way, you can keep everything production-based and possibly save some money . . . other than the rear mount issue.

Isn’t that 80’s compressor the infamous C171?

Check out Bouchillion Performance. They have a complete kit available, from brackets to pulleys etc. A friend of mine just did his '77 LeBaron and it works and looks great. The only thing you need to do is make your lines so they fit your application. A decent repair shop that does A/C work should be able to crimp fittings onto the hoses for you.

I used Bouchillion also and bought the tools to crimp my own hoses.

The compressor on my 1980 Mirada was a "Sankyo" if I remember correctly. It worked great, never had a problem with it.
