I'd be glad there are more nails.
I'd rather pay for an extra box of nails than be one nail short. At least they nail the piss out of it.

What is the whataboutism fallacy?
Whataboutism as a logical fallacy
As a form of tu quoque (Latin: “you also”) argument, they divert attention from the original criticism of a person, country, organization, or idea by returning the same criticism in response, but they have no bearing on the truth value of the original accusation.Oct 7, 2024

A logical fallacy is an argument that may seem convincing but is actually flawed due to a leap in logic, leading to an unsupported conclusion; essentially, it's a flawed reasoning pattern that undermines the validity of an argument, often used unintentionally due to poor reasoning or intentionally to manipulate other
Well in the videos I watched the poster kept mentioning a IAA yard he was at in the first drone overview of all the 17,000+ cars in the Clewiston FL yard which is actually a CoPart yard via Google Earth & streetview. I could see the yard but it was empty of cars when I Google Earthed it the other day but that image could be months or a year or so old, the Utube video was over a month old but he did say that the vehicles were in the processing stage and he's been doing this for a couple of years and is out of South Carolina and talked about a C8 Corvette he bought at one of the yards he was re-visiting.I have a couple biker brothers that go down to Florida every hurricane and buy brand new bikes for pennies on the dollar.
They have to take the bikes entirely apart and clean everything. I have seen some pretty awesome bikes purchased for very little.
@68PK21 440.6bbl Where and how does one go about purchasing any of these insurance cars? Any clue?
Don't encourage the POS.Well, with too many nails the structural integrity of a board CAN/COULD indeed be weakened.
That area where the tow nails are installed could have something behind it that they were trying to get a hold and grip on.
However, I tend to look at all those items coming together in one location at multiple different plains and I don't think this is a new home. This looks like a remodel. A cheap one with no OSB on the outside of the wall so they used the silver insulating board for shear strength. Meaning, this home is being put together cheaply anyway.
As I look closer I can see the board that is vertical that has the 6 tow nails are actually holding that vertical board to the flat board underneath. So technically I don't think that is too many nails. A 4x4 post, as it appears, would need 3 tow nails regardless. 2 nails did not get a good bit so 4 nails look to actually be holding the board. Not too many, especially since on my typical post details that are nailed they are required to have 3 nails anyway. One extra is very rarely a bad thing.
So then, under all the wood it appears there is a piece of carpet, further suggesting this is a remodel.
If you look at what the top left flat board is nailed into with the 6 nails you can see that the outside rim is a 2x that is on end, then there are multiple layers of wood built up to the depth of that left board. They look to be 3/4" boards sandwiched and nailed together to achieve the depth. That being the case, every 3/4" there would need to be at least one 10D nail placed into the center of each 3/4" piece of pine wood. So, technically I don't think there are too many nails in that left board. I know my engineer makes notes that tell me to install at least one 10D or larger nail into any multi layered build up like that.
Now, if I change my perspective and look at this picture in the tone of it being a roof rafter the picture makes more sense. I don't think it's too many nails since there are no hangers anywhere. And again it appears to be a remodel where two roofes come together.
Interesting. Definitely isn't the type of title I would want.Well in the videos I watched the poster kept mentioning a IAA yard he was at in the first drone overview of all the 17,000+ cars in the Clewiston FL yard which is actually a CoPart yard via Google Earth & streetview. IAA is Insurance Auto Auctions and here's a little summary from a Google search:
"IAA provides international buyers with the flexibility of participating in our online car auctions either with a registered buyer account or through a broker. Our Market Alliance members can provide local support to buyers in over 170 countries with bidding, buying..."
Remember practically all these flood vehicle's come with 'Certificate Of Destruction' titles with very few having 'Salvage Titles' meaning that the vehicle can only be used for parts and never registered or insured again here in the USA, but that's where the international buyers come in and you have to bid with them.
IAA has some yards up in the Tampa area but nothing as large as the Clewiston FL yard but I was already spending to much curious time on it and moved on. The say they got over 200+ locations, just checking now I see that some Hurricane cars went live today.
I imagine the registration is just the same as CoParts.

I think you missed the part "on a brand new house".And again it appears to be a remodel where two roofes come together.
They used hurricane brackets here.I think you missed the part "on a brand new house".
There are many FB 'Reels', Tube 'Shorts' and I don't even go there on TikTok'y about slapped together shoddy construction.
Texas seems to be famous for shoddy construction and Gold Star Inspections on FaceBork is popular with it's "That ain't right" reels.
I'm sure Floriduh is in the same boat with slap it up construction.
Here's another shot of the rafter which is a total WTF, hell I built better tree houses when I was like 6.

NOPOS? is that aimed at me?
You are correct. No experience.Only someone with no experience and a brand new nail gun would think that.
You need to brush up on your skills. How about a screen shot of the day from me. Just a small sampling.
Some of my inexperience as a general contractor for 20 years and a framer for 10.
I design, then create plans with my architect and then I build them myself.
I'm definitely still learning and need some more experience.
Would any of yal like to come have a custom home built in Colorado? Right in the middle, surrounded by something like 15 peaks that are 14,000 that you can see from all of your windows?
