Looking for any logical explanation on how something like things happens to the front timing cover.....noticed day after brought car home from having some work done when I was looking around for whatever it is that still isn't right with car...I have my opinion just looking for some others thanks.

Do these front drums look like oem ? Please tell me why if not thanks 20150318_113317-1.jpg20150319_163754.jpg20150319_163806-1.jpg

here is drivers side mount, oil coming from that hole in timing cover isn't doing the mount any good I know....bracket almost look powder coated like they have been replaced?20150319_173103-1.jpg20150319_173142-1.jpg20150319_173154.jpg bolts look new also heh?

That timing cover sure doesn't look right. I have no explanation for what might have happened there. Reminds me of when a friend's Granada had the damper grinding its way back into the timing cover by about 1/4-3/8", weirdest thing I have seen. Whom knows what the previous owner did/was thinking.

The drums look OK to me. They might be replacements, but they look just like the OEM ones.

The marks in the timing cover look like someone must have used a cut-off wheel to cut through the motor mount bolt. Could be for a mount change or who knows???

You have a couple choices, either swap out the timing cover for a new one or clean it up and fill the hole with epoxy or RTV.

Interesting about the motor mount comment as this is the other area of high suspect, I will post a few pics. Couple of main concerns, nobody can align the vehicle it has a pull to right esp at higher speeds. The engine sits with quite a bit of a lean towards drivers side, really the entire vehicle does which had me looking at the mounts which just look really sketchy in my opinion. Also previous owner, who was grandson of original owner said he needed to do the brakes before I bought it. When I brought the car home it dove to the left pretty hard when braking and I had a slight vibration through column and steering wheel. After having drums turned again they now sound like a school bus the last 20 feet of braking. These symptoms are what has me just searching for what ever the solution might be. As far as the drums when I was able to find pic of oem drum the front had the center hub part connected as mine the hub sticks through and has notches, which don't allow the wheel to sit flush,...one more thing lol my torsion bar adjusting bolt on passenger side, same side car pulls to, is a good half inch lower than drivers....Timing cover unfortunately IMHO looks like it was done intentional. This visit from shop just returned from was not a pleasant one with owner and I. Thanks for any and all thoughts

The marks on the drum look like the wheel is mounting flush.

looks like sawzall marks. maybe someone cut the mount in half to lift the motor for easier access to the mount bolts? if the whole car leans to one side, measure the length of the torsion bar adjustment bolts. should be very close to the same from side to side.

The right mount looks like it's upside down.
The brake issue may be incorrectly installed primary and secondary brake shoes. or old return springs
.
I agree the damage to the timing cover was done with a cut off wheel
.

The cuts in the timing cover don't look to be anywhere near the engine mount, not even in the direction for a long sawzall blade on a mount.

There is a chance somebody put a later balancer on the engine and tried to put a timing reference mark on the cover and didn't realize they cut through.

If you want a replacement cover I might have one I can sell.

The sawzall may have just got away from whoever was using it when trying to work it into position and they hit the go button at the same time
