If you can afford to take time from work, to me, it's always fun to go and get something far away. Back in 2002, I traded a guy in ND a Jeep Cherokee for a '56 Hudson Super Wasp. At that time, I had a '96 Dodge 3500 Club Cab Cummins 4x2 with a 19' open hauler, so I drove up and swapped. Granted, it was -5*F in Rugby, ND. And my truck really hated the cold! But that was a fun trip for me. It was a three-day trip for me from OKC to north-central ND and back.
If having it hauled suits you better, do so; that way, you know it'll arrive! But there is something about driving a new treasure home that is just plain fun. I've done that on occasion, too.
